Time has come for a new update on the old Blog. I have found that I’m in competition with Minnie’s facebook page. I believe that I’m being redundant with her page and hope not to be boring with this posting.

Today we are in Destin enjoying the tranquility of the seaside. Our trailer sits in a grove of pine trees and Florida native brush. The park is full, but the landscape helps to not make you feel crowded by separating sites and offsetting the pads. However I do think we are the youngest couple here, a lot of very senior folks amongst us.
Our plans have not changed since the last posting; we will attend Erika’s high school graduation and then head back to the Teton Mountains. We have been listing all the things we want to do when we return to Idaho and are anxious to arrive.

This past weekend we got a special visit from Michelle and her kids, (Taylor is 11 and Ian is 7…both have birthdays in a few months.) They drove at night just to see Grandma Minnie and play on the beach. I think it was more for the beach. The weather was absolutely perfect for beach stuff, only Sunday morning it was actually too cold to return for a last visit to the sand. All three of them left with great tans. As for me, red as a lobster.

We now hope Michael and Yolanda can make it for a weekend. They will try for next weekend and I hope the weather holds as good as it has been. Minnie and I have been attentive to family this past winter, I guess to compensate for our time away. Plus bad luck sometimes appears out of nowhere. My sister Sharon broke her hip a few months back resulting in a partial hip replacement. Recovery is slow, but she is tuff and is doing well today.


Working on the B&B/Ranch ( Blisswood ) was interesting and it helped us not spend money during these months. Minnie worked on the inside of the cabins while my responsibility was on general repairs. A big project was to refurbish three foot bridges that attached to an island on one the lakes on the ranch. It was difficult at times, for the supplies were limited (low budget) and weather became harsh. Months went by with very little progress made on the bridges. We left the ranch around Easter, and would say the project was only 90% completed.

Minnie and I parked on our property outside Giddings during April with the idea to make more improvement on the land. But somehow time just flew by, and nothing new was completed. So Minnie thought we needed a vacation, and so we have come to the seashore. Remember to live well and keep in touch.
