We're back...

Yes it has been a while since the last updated blog. The past five months Minnie and I have lived in College Station while Melissa completed her treatment for breast cancer. Today the cancer is not present and she has started a maintenance program that blocks the excess estrogen in her system.

We had a chance to visit all the family and see a few friends during this time. Also I had a part-time job, driving a transit bus for the University while Minnie was a full time nanny. This kept me busy enough not to be spending money on the farm and allowed Minnie to bond with youngest Grandson.
This year we are trying a new way to sightsee and not spend money. We are going to be Workcampers at a campground in the Teton Mountains. Located 25 miles west of Jackson Wy. This will allow us to live rent free for the summer season and have time to sightsee this part of the country while staying cool.

Our first stop on the road to the Tetons was Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo. This is the second largest canyon in the US, and I would add the hottest. It hit 95 while we were there, and this morning in Laramie Wy. we awoke to 35 degrees. So please stop by to visit us in Victor Idaho at the Teton Valley Campground this summer, if you’re in the neighborhood.

During our stay in College Station Michelle, Taylor and Ian came to visit us at Thanksgiving. They finally got to meet Evan. It was a great visit. Michelle enjoyed the warm sunshine while she was there. We also had the opportunity to visit with Marks brother Eddie and his wife Elizabeth. Their son Jed also came by for a visit. We camped out at the farm and on Saturday Sharon and Bob came out to see them. We had not seen them since Melissa’s wedding almost 5 years ago. How time has flown by!

Just a note on a couple of things too. Mark pulled a muscle in his neck that put him out of commission for a few days. He was in such pain that he actually went to the doctor! Can you believe that? But otherwise he didn’t hurt himself the rest of the time! And for all you grandmas out there, it was heartbreaking to leave the grandson after babysitting him for 4 months. ………Minnie

Great to catch up with you - MY, you two have been busy! Thanks for posting the BEAUTIFUL photos. What a wonderful travel journal you've created.

For those of us that might be a bit geographically challenged (ok - for me...) are you close enough to Denver to do lunch???

Take care!
